Description:
Please submit your housing application for The Fairfax Apartments via this registration site. Read the important information below and click SIGN UP at the bottom of the page to proceed with registration. This application must be submitted 2 business days prior to your check-in.

AFFILIATION to Carnegie Mellon University is required. Guest Housing is available for persons visiting the Carnegie Mellon University campus for University-related business or University-related purposes, such as; attendees participating in University summer programs, visiting students or professors, research sponsor employees working with University faculty or staff, guest lecturers, visiting researchers or scientists, currently enrolled full-time Carnegie Mellon University students needing temporary accommodations and prospective students and parents who are visiting the University campus or participating in a University campus tour. For questions about whether your purpose for requesting Guest Housing may be considered a University-related business or purpose, please contact the Conference & Event Services office by telephone at 412-268-1125 or by email at Conference & Event Services. You will be required in step 2 of the registration process to provide this information. Note: Your reservation will not be complete until you provide these details.

Accommodations:

Carnegie Mellon University’s Guest Housing accommodations will officially begin Saturday, May 25, 2024 and end at Noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Housing accommodations will be in Fairfax Apartments, amenities are top notch and right off campus but close to the heart of Oakland and on the bus line. Room types consist of suite singles and doubles. Fairfax Apartments' amenities include a shared kitchen and living room space, shared bathrooms and air conditioning.

If you choose double occupancy in a double room, you will be assigned a roommate of the same gender. Please note: since Guest Housing operates like a hotel, there will be guests checking-in and checking-out on different days which means that you might have a roommate arrive before or after you.

Rates:
$46.02 per person/per night – double occupancy in a double room
$54.60 per person/per night – single occupancy in a small single room
$62.08 per person/per night – single occupancy in a double room

Please note: the entire cost of your length of stay must be paid in full at time of registration.

Linens are included in this price (flat sheet, fitted sheet, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth). Long-term guests will receive a weekly linen change.

A complimentary guest internet account will be provided during check-in.

Check-in: Please check-in at the Conference & Event Services Summer Housing Guest Services office located on the first floor of Stever House any time after 3:00pm.

Check-out: Check-out time is no later than NOON EST on the day of your departure. Your key will automatically expire, therefore, there is no formal check-out process.

PLEASE NOTE:
  • All guests must be 18 years or older at the time of check-in to reside in guest housing.
  • All intended occupants of the room must register for Guest Housing. For example, roommates sharing a room should each register “Double Occupancy in a Double Room.”
  • Guests MUST settle payment in full prior to arrival on campus in order to hold a reservation. The University cannot guarantee housing accommodations for incomplete registration information or payments.

Cancellation Policy


In order to cancel, you must notify Conference & Event Services.

Housing
Cancellations must be received two business days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations within two business days of your arrival date will result in a charge of two nights' stay.

Parking
Parking is non-refundable.
